Little Loc update :)
The loc knots lasted for about 2-3 weeks and I ended up enjoying the style more than I thought I would.
Besides loc knots, I also did my signature braid out when I re-twisted my roots last week.
Lastly, today I wanted to try the straight hair look like "curlynugrowth" and "afronique" of youtube have done with their locs. The style defintely has potential, but me being myself couldn't let it set long enough. i took the rollers out after about an 1hr lol. I could see the potential though
Other, than that my hair has been chilling. I don't do much with it, in fact I don't even recall my everyday style lol

My princess wants hair like mine!
last week I decided to put individual braids in my daughters hair.... For a few reasons. I didn't really like how it looked down, but the other day she insisted she have hair like mine. I added a little water and shea butter to her braids and gave her a headband. 3 days later, girlfriend is still whipping her hair around loving it. This is so special to me because she has never really liked my locs/ twist. She would always prefer a straight long style. Now my princess has watched me wear locs and she must have noticed the beauty because she wants the same. I feel so blessed that I am able to have my very self aware girl love her hair in a very simple state. She knows shes beautiful with or without barrettes, clips, and accessories. No longer does she ask for ponytails or straight hair because she can now appreciate her natural hair :)

Ava's hair
I got this style from
I figured I'd give it a try on Ava's hair. Her hair had already been in a similar style so I thought I'd just keep up the trend. Of course the style had to be remixed to suit us, but it still came out cute. Quick, easy, cute, and Ava liked it too. I am trying to get her used to the idea that she doesn't need a head full of barrettes to look pretty. So far Its working because the other day she took all of her 3 barrettes out because she wanted to look like me :) anyways heres the style......,

Why did I decide to Loc?
For many reasons just like everyone else I bet. The biggest attraction to locs for me was/is simplicity. I have no interest in combing my hair anymore. lol. Im so serious though. I also love that I can wash my hair whenever I feel like it and not have to worry about “doing it” once Im done. Length retention is a another reason. I know hair can grow in almost any style, but at least for me I don’t think my hair has grown as much as I want it to. I think I haven’t seen the growth because I don’t have the patience for detangling like other naturals do. I have no interest in spending 30mins-1 hr just to get a comb through my hair. When I look back at photos of my hair over the past year, the style seen most is twist. Why? because they are so easy. Most of the time I didn’t even use a comb to install them. They are also so versatile and low maintenance.
I havent realized it until a couple days ago, but I have been natural for 5 years! Most of the time I did my own hair. I was thinking that I am rushing into locking my hair, but when I look back over the years, I spent time playing, learning, and styling my hair. I have always admired locs and wanted my own, but felt very self conscious about getting them. I thought that they would make me look less attractive. SMH at myself big time! lol I cant pinpoint the exact moment or deciding factor that led me to finally loc my hair, but I know its something that I always thought about. Recently, like in the last month I have been watching loc’d youtubers and made the decision after seeing how versatile and beautiful locs are. I also felt like I was getting bored with my “loose” hair. Although, there are so many styling options for natural hair, I just didnt experiement too much. I was always attracted to all weather, low maintence hair. lol Twist and now Locs!

Locs?
I know this will be a shocker for most, because I dont think I have ever mentioned this but...... I had/have a serious obsession/ love for locs. It has grown stronger over the past few days and today I decided to give it a go. I am not 100% sure this is what I want but I want it enough to give it a try.
I spent this day two strand twisting my hair, I did the twist smaller than I ever had and I used a comb for parting(something I never do) I told my husband yesterday that I was thinking about getting locs and he smiled and said " I knew you would eventually" he thought that my whole " natural" journey was to loc my hair, lol. That wasn't my intention, but I am glad he was accepting. As I write this I am trying to think of reasons that I don't want locs and there aren't many. I am happy I took the first step in the process. I know y'all prob think I'm crazy and am going in to the blindly but I have spent hours over the past few days stalking youtube loc wearers and bloggers. Even before I decided to loc I had been subscribed to a few ladies with locs.
Basically I want my hair locked because I think it's the best decision regarding hair for my lifestyle. I hate detangling and combing my hair even thought has gotten easier. I also love twist, as you can see that was the main style I wore. Even though I love twist outs , wash n gos, buns, and such I just don't have the patience for it. Yes it looks pretty, but I feel like you still have to style it everyday and I don't want to do that. I also don't like to worry about my hair getting ruined if it rains or if it's humid. This is one of the reasons I went natural! I just want to get up and go and if throughout the day I experience crazy weather, I won't have to worry about my hair.
I'm so excited for what's to come, I can't wait to see how long it takes my hair to loc, im hoping less than 6 months. I really hope to see some awesome growth, I really think my hair is secretly thanking me :)

products, products, products!
I didnt just order these things "just because" I am on a serious mission to simplifly my hair products and find some products that will allow me to feel comfertable wearing "out"styles. I dont wear "out" styles too often because my hair never feels soft or fluffy enough and its also lacking movement. I assume, its the products that are just not working for my hair.
ok, i am too sleepy to go on lol. i will be posting a more deailed video of my recent purchases as soon as my terressentials arrives!
